Background
City of Stirling Council is the WA Council in the Northern Suburbs of Perth.
The Terry Tyzack Aquatic Centre has both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a health and fitness centre and a crèche.
The Stirling Leisure Centre - Leisurepark - Balga offers a range of swimming and fitness facilities and programs, as well as functions and venue hire, crèche, cafe, retail shop and other services.
The different sites had operating controllers which provided no means of verifying, monitoring or control setpoints variance for each site.
Challenges
The client wanted local and remote facilities at the City of Stirling Council Offices – Facility Management Department.
Solutions
Each site had “like for like” replacement of existing DDC Controllers to the Alerton DDC product line, a communications network was added around the Leisure Centres and “Virtual” Optergy BMS/EMS Servers applied to provide local and remote information at the Councils fingertips.
Results
Within 3 months the two sites were available for control and monitoring; not only providing the City of Stirling FM Officers with local and remote operation, but enabling them to plan for the future, add metering and energy conservation strategies, by the implementation and additions to the base systems provided through the Optergy Enterprise Platform.

Future Plans
The City of Stirling Council are now looking to add other existing and new council owned buildings, to the Optergy Enterprise portfolio and cement a long term relationship with Alerton through new projects, Service and Fit out works, with Preventative Maintenance for subsequent works.
Further discussions regarding HVAC, Cogen, Lighting, People Counters and Security implementation, to mention just a few areas of work, demonstrates the future ambitions through the Alerton/City of Stirling Council partnership.
